What is rehabilitation?

Essentially, rehabilitation aims to reduce anything that’s holding you back as a result of illness or injury. When our team of rehabilitation therapists develop a specialist programme, they are looking into two things:

  1. The regaining of movement and/or function
  2. The benefits of independence and meaningful activity.

When a patient comes to us for rehabilitation, we offer a range of services to help and support recovery.

Most injuries require physiotherapy in order to begin the healing process. Our team of expert physiotherapists are highly trained and able to recommend a bespoke plan of treatments to suit your individual needs and help you to reach your goals.

Rehabilitation with our therapists can include any of the following:

  • Pre-surgery strength and endurance
  • Post-surgery recovery
  • Range of motion
  • Pain management

How Premier Clinic’s rehabilitation programmes can help you

We work with you to make sure that your rehabilitation programme suits your needs, enabling you to work towards achievable goals to gain the outcome you want.

Our proactive approach to rehabilitation using physiotherapy methods can mean that some orthopaedic surgeries can be avoided entirely. However, in some cases, surgery is necessary to help regain use and movement. We have a wealth of experience in providing rehabilitation programmes for patients and clients who are recovering after the following surgeries:

● ACL repair
● Hip replacement
● Knee replacement
● Shoulder surgery
● Orthopaedic surgery

Rehabilitation can be an intimidating prospect, particularly if you’re overcoming a serious injury or looking to regain movement, strength and mobility after surgery. Our specialist programmes are developed to encourage proper and efficient recovery and the best possible return to functional capability.

Frequently Asked Questions

After your diagnosis, we’ll work with you to develop a bespoke treatment plan that works for you. This will usually take the form of both hands-on therapy (such as massage therapy) and an exercise and rehabilitation programme.

The reason we use both methods is to create a rounded plan that enables you to strengthen as you recover, speeding up and assisting your recovery.

Our expert therapists will also recommend a number of exercises and stretches for you to practice at home, improving your mobility even further.

Unfortunately not – all of our sessions are clinic based so that we can provide the best possible care and support for you.

Our state of the art clinics have the very best equipment and facilities, and so are the ideal situation in which to receive your treatment.

All of our sessions, whether they are hands-on therapy or an exercise and rehabilitation session take from around 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete.

All of the services at Premier Clinic are private, and are not available through the NHS.
